Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNICE ROBERTA JOAN LOVELL (nee LAUDER) On November 10, 2007, Bernice left us at the age of 84 years. The second daughter of Robert and Jean Lauder, Bernice was born and raised in Winnipeg, moving to Ottawa on her marriage in 1944. Widowed at 23, she returned to Winnipeg after the birth of her daughter, where she met and married Orville Stanley Lovell. They were blessed with two sons and 56 years together. Always compassionate and generous, Bernice welcomed her mother and her mother and father-in-law in their later years to share her home for extended periods prior to entering personal care facilities. Once her children were older, Bernice began work with Meals on Wheels as an intake worker, attending Red River College evenings to upgrade her education, and remained there until her retirement. Bernice was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew's Church in Windsor Park, participating over the years in the church choir and women's group. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed the time she and Orville spent at their cottage and with friends at Ingolf, ON. Bernice had a gift for finding the humour in life. She was always there for her family, a caring, supportive wife, mother and friend, who will be sorely missed. Predeceased by F/L D. Earl Anderson, and brothers-in-law Tom Kines, Gordon Harvey and Gordon Lovell, Bernice is survived by her loving husband Orville, daughter Heather-Jean and son-in-law Drewe Littlejohn of Winnipeg, son Bob of Calgary, AB, son Scott (grandchildren Cara and Corley Sweeting) of Falcon Lake, MB, sisters Mavis Kines of Ottawa, ON, Donna Harvey of Regina, SK, and sister-in-law Dawn Lovell of N. Vancouver, BC. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral. A memorial service is scheduled for a later date. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
